What this guide covers
A task combines a source, detector, condition and one or more actions. Text recognition may succeed while the condition remains false; a condition may match while an external action fails. This separation is useful for troubleshooting and prevents a common mistake: interpreting every new preview frame as a notification event. Choose a condition that expresses the actual signal you need.
Set it up
For keyword alerts, crop a readable status line, choose contains and enter a distinctive word such as Error. Select an in-page notice and a saved record for the first test. Show a nonmatching message, a matching message and then the unchanged matching message. Review the task history after each step before adding remote notification channels.
Check the result
Keyword comparison normalizes the recognized text and compares without case sensitivity. This is still text matching, not an understanding of intent or negation. A line saying No Error can contain the word Error. Choose a less ambiguous phrase or a narrower source region if a single keyword could appear in both success and failure messages.
Before you rely on it
Text changed compares successive recognized content and can include an initial nonempty result; number changed has a different first-reading baseline. Repeated identical recognized text is not a new event. Threshold and keyword conditions also track matching state to reduce repeat alerts. Editing a task or restarting recognition can reset the relevant comparison context.
Troubleshooting
If a rule never fires, check whether the task is enabled and attached to the connected source, then inspect the exact OCR text. If it fires too often, remove timestamps, blinking cursors and changing counters from the region. Notification delivery should be tested only after the detector and condition behave correctly on deliberate examples.
Product reference
Example requests are translated into deterministic local task settings. They are not a general-purpose AI agent, and unfamiliar free-form requests can require manual configuration. The product does not click another application’s buttons or type into it. Before trusting an automatically suggested task, read its preview and confirm every detector, condition and selected action.
Create a text task, select a region and choose either text changed or contains keyword. Text changed compares successive recognition results; a keyword can be Error, Done or any text you want to watch. A match can trigger an in-page or system browser notification. System notifications require permission.
